Fixed Windows
A non-opening window that lets in maximum natural light and an unobstructed view, ideal where ventilation is not the priority.
- Uninterrupted Views — No hinge, track or crank mechanism to interrupt the glass, for the clearest possible view.
- Maximum Natural Light — The largest usable glass area for a given opening size.
- Excellent Insulation — No opening sash to seal means fewer draughts and strong energy efficiency with double glazing.
- Ideal for Hard-to-Reach Spots — A practical choice above stairwells, high walls, or other spaces where ventilation isn't needed.
Overview
Fixed windows don't open at all — the glass is sealed permanently into the frame. Without a hinge, track or crank mechanism, there's nothing to interrupt the glass, giving the clearest possible view and the largest usable glass area for a given opening.
Because there's no opening sash to seal, fixed windows offer excellent insulation and draught resistance when paired with double glazing, making them a strong choice for hard-to-reach spots or areas where ventilation isn't needed.
They're often combined with an opening window style nearby, such as an awning or casement window, to bring in light and framed views while still allowing airflow elsewhere in the same room.
